3 Tips For Cleaning With A Pressure Washer

If you need to clean the outside of your storefront, one of the most effective ways to clean the outside of your store is with a pressure washer. Here are three tips for cleaning the outside of your store with a commercial pressure washer.

#1 Start Low With The Pressure

When you clean with a commercial pressure washer, it is important to realize that it puts out a lot more pressure than your average pressure washer that you may use around your home. All that pressure creates a lot of force that can do real damage if you don't control it properly.

When cleaning with a commercial pressure washer, start with the lowest setting and test that out on the surface that you want to clean. Then, slowly, increase the pressure until you reach the desired pressure in order to clean the outside of your business. It is best to start low and then increase the pressure as you go, versus starting with high pressure and then going lower.

#2 Work High To Low

When you clean the outside of your business, you are going to want to start high and go low, and start on the inside and work your way to the outside. For example, when cleaning a wall, start at the top and work your way down. Also, spray from the inside of the building to the outside, so that the dirt you break up makes it all the way to the ground.

Working in a systemic manner will also help you ensure that you clean the entire surface of the outside of the building. Try to work top to bottom, inside to outside as you clean the outside of your building to ensure that everything ends up as clean as possible.

#3 Protect Yourself

Finally, it is important that you protect yourself as you clean up the outside of your business. The pressure from the washer can be really strong, and can hurt you if you get caught in front of it for any reason. All that pressure from the water can also cause things to really go flying.

When you clean with a pressure washer, you should cover up your arms and legs with a long-sleeved shirt and long pants. You should also protect your eyes with goggles or other protective eye gear. It may be smart to also wear some ear plugs as well, as commercial pressure washers can be really loud.
